I love birds!

I am an animal lover, but there are some animals I don't like.
Chickens are my leastfavorite animals.

When I was in college, I majored fine arts.
One of the figure drawing classes I took, we got an assignment to draw a whole chiken meet.
All of my classmates and I got together and did the home work.
It sounds like fun, but I had a problem!

I hate chickens! I can't stand even just looking at them!!

I told my professor "I'm sorry, I hate chicken, so I couldn't draw chicken!!"



All I drew was that my classmates drawing a chicken. 
My teacher was cool enough to understand me!

After many years passed, I started to paint chicken!
This picture is called "I love birdy" I painted last year.

It doesn't mean I started to like them.

All I like is eating chicken meat!

Empty Mind

We can understand many things with our knowledges and experiences.

However, there are also many things we can see by forgetting about all of our knowledges and experiences.

I don't know about other people, but I believe so.

I guess I am interested in such thing more.


It is a little different story, but in my dream, sometimes I forget who I am and become different person.

Time, environment or my age could be different in my dreams.

I often forget about my nationality, age or gender when I talk to people, and conversation can be more interesting and more fun that way.

When I was painting at home, some visiter came and asked me if I were sleeping. 

It happen to me a few times.

Maybe when I paint, my mind can be as empty as when I sleep.

This painting is called "Past", I painted in 2005.  It has nothing to do with this blog...(^^)

Worries

I believe art is my call!


I used to worry about things like future, and I was thinking about if what I was doing right thing for me, or stuff like that.

I guess many young people feel same way I felt.

One day, I told my self, "As long as I paint or draw, I don't have to worry about anything!"

Since then, I had made a lot of art!


About 10 years passed, I have nothing to worry about now!!

What I think about gay marriage.

I am a straight married man, but I respect gay people.

Since I was a child, I was interested in girls. If some one tells me to like boys for my date, it is impossible. I think majority of people in the world are the same way.

However; there are people who are interested in same sex. If any one tells them to like opposite sex for date, I don't think it is possible either.

Well, they can pretend to like opposite sex, but I think that is very hard because if I pretend to like a man, and I have to live with him and have to have sex with him, no matter how nice man he is, it must be a nightmare for me!

Gay people love same sex, so what!? I think true love is always great!

One day, I saw a gay couple in the city. They were an international couple.
At first, I didn't think about anything, but I realized they might have to break up some day no matter how much they love each other.

I lived in foreign country for many years, so I know getting visa to stay in foreign countries are not always easy.

If couple were married, it is pretty easy to get visa to live in the same country, but if not, they need to find official reason to live and must get visa for that.

Two people love each other, isn't that enough reason!?

Cherry Blossom!

I haven't use cherry blossoms as motif for my art very much because I like vivid colors.

However, I painted a very small picture of cherry blossom today.

The title is "Cherry Blossom Man".

I am planing to do more of cherry blossom.






I heard we will have cherry blossom early this year.
In a few days, there will be first blossom in Tokyo!
But, it is only one flower of one particular three that weather people use.

I am not big fun of flowers, but I feel happy about cherry blossom because I am a Japanese!
In Japanese, cherry blossoms are symbols of spring!

Spring is coming!!

I went to Art Araq Asia + Gallery in Yokohama

 today the same place I did my solo show last year.

It was first day of tomy's festa 2.

There was about 20 artists perticipated on this event.

               

Many people showed up!

I mat some interesting artists today.

I brought 3 paintings today.

I also brought my new hand made books.

These are price tags.

I will participate the event call "tomy's festa 2" from Saturday, February  23 to Friday, March 1.
The place will be at AAA Gallery in Yokohama.
It is right near by Chinatown.

For this event, I made 3 of 26cmX38cm paintings with brush pens this week. 

There will be many artists displaying their work such as paintings, illustrations, photographs and so on!

It is first time for me to join this event, so I don't know what it will be like.

However, I heard tomy's festa is one popular fun event!
